Secondary 2 students in the Computer class recently completed a hands-on Arduino project that demonstrated their growing skills in electronics and programming. After purchasing their Arduino components from online shops, students worked with an LDR sensor and a DHT11 temperature and humidity sensor, together with other electronic components, to build working prototypes.
The main features of their project included an automated temperature and light monitoring system. Using the DHT11 sensor, the Arduino was programmed to switch on a small fan when the room became too warm. The LDR sensor was also used to detect when the room was dark, allowing the device to automatically turn on a light. This activity helped students apply basic coding and circuit design in a practical and meaningful way.
