Primary 2 Science: Light it Up!
Primary 2 students enjoyed an exciting hands-on experience last week as they explored the fundamentals of electricity through a circuit‑building activity. With the guidance of their Science teachers, students use batteries, wires, switches, and bulbs, to create their own working electric circuits mounted on cardboard displays. One student proudly presented a project titled “Light It Up with My Electric Circuit,” demonstrating an operative setup that included a power source, connectors, and switches arranged neatly across the board.
This activity helped students deepen their understanding of how electrical energy flows through a closed circuit to make a bulb light up. They practiced problem‑solving as they tested and adjusted their designs, developed confidence by explaining their finished work, and strengthened fine motor skills while assembling each component.
The classroom was filled with excitement as students experimented, discovered connections, and celebrated their successful circuits. Engaging activities like this inspire curiosity and foster a strong foundation in STEM learning. Our young inventors truly brightened the day with their creativity and growing scientific knowledge.
