EP Discipline: Stress Relief Workshop

The 3Rs: Refresh, Relax, and Recovery were the key goals of the Stress Relief Workshop held on 20 February by Miss Satou Chikako, whose expertise is in Mental Health Management & Psychiatric Therapy. The event was attended by more than 30 Thai Teachers from the English Program.

According to Mr. Chalermphan Thongdee, one of the attendees, “we warmly welcomed ‘Enomoto Clinic’, the psychiatric clinic, to ACSP. It showed the concept of 3Rs to manage stress. The staff introduced themselves and let the teachers get familiar with the 3Rs concept, surveying stress levels to know how stressed they are feeling. The staff were energetic to do the well-prepared activities with the teachers. They started with the performance of the Okinawa Eisa dance, the drumming dance from Okinawa (Japan). Then, they taught the teachers to dance “Bon Odori”, a Japanese dance and festival that honors ancestors and celebrates life and dance. Next, it was time for the consulting session. The teachers were divided into two big groups and discussed the stresses of the job. They described how they gave the meaning to stress, shared the ways to relieve stress, and learned some techniques from the experts to overcome it. This workshop was so useful, as teachers could use the knowledge and techniques to improve themselves at work to their full potential. We thank ‘Enomoto Clinic’ once again”.

At the end, the teachers were feelings Refreshed, Relaxed, and Recovered, ready for a new academic year.

The English Program would like to thank Enomoto Clinic and its team for the successful workshop.
