ACSP and Asahijuku Secondary School, Okayama, Japan

ACSP collaborated with Asahijuku Secondary School (ASJJ) in Okayama, Japan, to organize the ‘Overseas Thai Cultural Study Tour for Japanese Students’ project which will be held from 26th August to 2nd September 2024. This project aims to achieve four main objectives:  1. help ASJJ students know more about Thai culture and actively exchange Japanese culture with ACSP students. 2. Provide ASJJ students with the experience of traveling abroad in Thailand. 3. Allow students from ASJJ to form friendships and build good relationships with ACSP students. 4. Help ACSP to establish an international academic network.

On the first day, ACSP together with the host families and buddies, warmly welcomed ASJJ guests. This set a good base for getting to know each other. On 27th August (day 2), ACSP prepared a special dance and school band performance to formally welcome the Asahijuku Secondary School guests. The School Director, Bro. Dr. Monthol Prathumarach, along with the two Vice Directors, Bro. Manit Sakonthawat and Bro. Nathon Suphon met the visitors and exchanged greetings. After the ceremony, students took a campus tour and attended Thai language, dance, and musical classes.

On the 29th of August (day 3), ASJJ students took a Thai language class, a public presentation workshop, and a Thai cooking class. For the remainder of their 8-day stay, the students explored and visited Bangkok’s iconic places such as Bangkok City Pillar Shrine, Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, China Town, Yaowarat Museum, Chatuchak Weekend Market, and many more. They also had the opportunity to learn more about Thai culture, attend English classes, and visit Japan EXPO Thailand 2024 at Central World.

ACSP would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the project organizers (ACSP and ASJJ), teachers, student buddies, committed PTA Host Families, school administrators, and the entire school community. This project has helped to build strong bonds and good friendships between ACSP and ASJJ. The school looks forward to future endeavors working together and hopes to visit Asahijuku Secondary School in Japan.
