Primary 4 Topic: Subject-verb agreement By Robert Galloway

Subject-verb agreement may sound confusing, but many students use this grammar rule correctly without even knowing its name.
Simply, when we are speaking about the present, we change the ending of the verb to match the number of subjects.
e.g.
Singular Subject: A panda eats bamboo shoots.
Plural Subject: Pandas eat bamboo shoots.
For further details, the topic can be found on page 38 of the students’ ‘My Pals Are Here!’ 4B textbook. As can be seen in the photos, we have been practising this grammar rule by discussing different animal’s habits and features.
We ended the lesson with a game of Connect 4. Students compete in two teams to align 4 ‘coins’ to win the game. We add a simple twist to the game whereby students must provide a sentence or a word relating to the subject in the circles, before they can ‘put their coin in’. The students love to participate and it allows students of all abilities to join in.
