Primary 5 students on exploring and describing a local environment on school grounds

MLP Primary 5 students have learned about observing and describing a local environment in our Science Class with Ms. Supanee Nilprapai and Ms. Jessica Mamaradlo, Primary 5 MLP Science Teachers. Students learned intuitively by observing, exploring and working in their natural environment.
An environment can be described in terms of its physical components as well as biological components living there.
Students were given an opportunity to explore the ecosystem around the schoolyard specifically the pond habitat, garden habitat, leaf litter and single tree in order to observe the community of organisms that live there, to understand the characteristics of the different habitats, their conditions, the different needs provided for plants and animals that live in them.
After exploring the school grounds, P.5 students worked in groups to record their observations.
Giving this kind of activity helps students to develop observation skills, investigative skills, teamwork, and to provide a sense of wonder and excitement.
