This week, Miss Janya Boonlerd and I were thrilled to watch our classroom buzz with excitement as our P.3 students dived headfirst into the world of game design, exploring how a few tweaks to "World Settings" can completely transform a digital environment. It was incredible to watch their faces light up as they realized they held the power to change the atmosphere and rules of their virtual worlds to match an underwater theme. To put their new skills to the test, we jumped into a hands-on coding activity called the "Fish Hunter Game." The students were tasked with creating a lively marine ecosystem featuring one hungry octopus and ten darting fish, learning firsthand how different characters interact within a shared space.

As the project got underway, the classroom transformed into a mini game studio. Miss Janya and I watched with pride as our young programmers successfully coded the octopus to hunt down its prey, while simultaneously programming the ten fish to intelligently wander the screen and instinctively scatter in a panic whenever the octopus swam too close. The room was filled with gasps and cheers as the students watched their code come to life, with the octopus chasing and eating the fish as they tried their best to evade it. Seeing our P.3 students grasp these complex conditional logic concepts while having an absolute blast reminded us exactly why we love teaching computer science.
