The Assumption swimming team are proud to announce the commencement of the second semester swimming training for levels 4,5 and 6 primary students. All students have been assessed for their personal swimming abilities and divided into 3 groups ranging from beginner to adequate ability. In the coming weeks, all students will be trained in the primary swimming styles, beginning with a warm up, consisting of leg kicking, holding breath underwater and some floating skills. Each week the swimming team aim to push the student’s stamina with ever increasing exercises. All teachers pay close attention to swimming technique by constantly assessing student's ability and guiding them with practical training and demonstration.

Parents can be assured that their child’s safety is always under constant supervision when they are in the pool, life saving equipment is always at hand in the form of observation chairs, buoyancy aids and life saving rings. Water quality is checked daily to ensure PH levels are within standardized levels. The pool’s filtration system is salt based which lowers the amount of chemicals needed to maintain water quality, which is kinder to the skin.
Although the focus is on swimming technique and ability, we understand the importance of play. Each session ends with a short period of splashing around and having fun, this activity gives students a feeling of independence and confidence in the water.

By the end of the semester our goal is that all students have a minimum of independent swimming proficiency, and improved skills for those students who can already swim.
So come take a look at Assumption’s excellent swimming facilities and give us your valued feedback.
