Secondary 1 Programming Motors: Learning Motor Parameters (power, duration, degrees, and rotations) for precise motion.
Secondary 1 Programming Motors: Learning Motor Parameters (power, duration, degrees, and rotations) for precise motion.
This month of July Secondary 1 students started to learn how motors are used to drive and control movement in EV3 Robots, identify and connect EV3 motors to the EV3 Brick and understand the purpose of the motor blocks in the EV3 programming environment. Students are also asked to write a basic EV3 program that uses motor blocks to control robot movement, adjust motor parameters (power, duration, rotations, braking) for precise motion. Apply motor programming concepts to perform basic movement tasks (e.g., move forward, turn, stop).
Activity: Program the robot to run in Square, Triangle and Circle motion using different motor power and modes (degrees, rotation and seconds) for precise turns.
At the end of this lesson students were able to Identify and explain the functions of EV3 motors and how they interact with the brick controller. Use the EV3 programming environment to control motor movements and troubleshoot and debug basic motor-related programming issues.
