Cambridge English Assessment 2025

On January 30th, students from the English Program participated in the Cambridge English Assessment awarding organised by the English Department and ACSP International Standards Testing Center (ACSP-ISTC) compared to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Using the council’s benchmark, Primary 2 students completed the Movers test, and 83% reached A1 level, while Primary 4 students took the Flyers test and 88% attained A2 level, Secondary 1 had Key English Test (KET) and 92% accomplished B1 level, and Secondary 2 were examined for the Preliminary for Schools English Test (PET) and 91% achieved B2 level.

These assessments are significant because they are part of the Cambridge English Qualifications, recognized worldwide. Cambridge English has over 2,800 assessment centers in 130 countries, ensuring a fair evaluation of students' English skills.

These tests help students demonstrate their progress, which is beneficial for their academic pursuits. To prepare for these assessments, English Program teachers provide engaging revision lessons. Each lesson builds on what students already know, allowing them to enhance their language skills while enjoying the learning process. The lessons utilize age-appropriate content, colorful visuals, and interactive activities to foster a positive attitude toward learning English.
