S6 Public Presentation 2025
English Program S6 students completed the Public Presentation activity on 31 January 2025. This activity encouraged students to research and present a significant historical event or influential figure that has shaped the world in contemporary history. Students explored topics of global importance and shared their insights with an audience.
Each student delivered a 10-minute presentation and a Q&A session, during which audience members engaged with the topic through thoughtful questioning. Through this activity, students developed public speaking skills by presenting to an audience with confidence and clarity, enhanced their critical thinking and research abilities by selecting and analyzing key historical events or figures, improved presentation and organization skills by structuring a well-supported argument, built confidence in articulating ideas and responding to audience questions effectively, and utilized visual aids to complement their presentations and engage listeners.
Students were assessed based on the following: organisation – clear structure, logical flow, and coherence of ideas; content – depth of research, accuracy, and relevance of information; visuals – effective use of slides, images, or other supporting materials; delivery – clarity, confidence, voice projection, and engagement with the audience; and knowledge & Q&A – the ability to respond to audience questions with well-reasoned answers.
This activity strengthened students’ communication skills and fostered a deeper understanding of key historical moments and influential figures who continue to shape our world today.
