ACSP EP and Cyber Safety and Social Media Literacy

On 12 June 2024, the English Program Discipline department, led by Bro. Manit Sakonthawat, Vice Director, organized the Cyber Safety and Social Media Literacy by Inspector of the Technology Crime Prevention for Primary 5 to Secondary 6 students. This was arranged in collaboration with the Technology Crime Suppression Division-Central Investigation Bureau.

The training objective was to educate students on how to increase their awareness of online and social media issues, prevent possible threats, reduce exposure to inappropriate content, and limit inappropriate behavior. This was done in order to teach them about protecting both their physical and mental health around the influence of social media.

There were 2 guest speakers: Police Major Wiraphong Naewkhamdee, Technology Crime Prevention Group Inspector, and Police Sergeant Panwad Thanopajai, Group Commander of Technology Crime Prevention.

During the activity, there were examples of cases from online media such as posting malicious content, clicking suspicious links in the LINE app messages, being deceived through social media, falsifying online sales, and many more. They also shared guidelines on how students can protect themselves from being deceived by fake Facebook pages. The topics piqued the students’ interest and curiosity. The students were encouraged to ask questions to the guest speaker or share their experiences with other students present. We hope students take these lessons into their future lives to continue to protect themselves and use these tools safely and effectively.
