ASEAN Scholarship for Thailand: Preparing the Present to Create a Future

Punyathorn Temridtiwong (Seine), from Secondary 3/8, has achieved an impressive milestone by being awarded the ASEAN Scholarship for Thailand, sponsored by the Singaporean government. This scholarship offers him a valuable opportunity to pursue his studies in Singapore, starting from S3 and continuing through Pre-University 2. Out of a competitive pool of candidates, only 32 students from Thailand received this honor after successfully navigating the qualifying assessments and interviews. Punyathorn will join Temasek Junior College (Integrated Programme) for the next phase of his academic journey, where he will further develop his skills and knowledge.

Ambassador Catherine Wong hosted the ASEAN Scholarship 2024 Award Ceremony and Reception at the Singaporean embassy, inspiring young scholars as they celebrated their remarkable achievements with family members, before they embark on their journey to Singapore in November 2024.

Through this scholarship, these students gain the opportunity to expand their perspectives and develop vital skills, such as leadership and communication. In doing so, they will actively contribute to fostering goodwill and mutual understanding among young people from various countries. Established in 1998 under the Singapore-Thailand Enhanced Partnership program, the ASEAN Scholarships are offered annually to outstanding Thai students to study in Singapore from Secondary Three to Junior College Year Two. The 32 Scholarship recipients from 10 different provinces in Thailand will begin their school terms at various secondary schools in Singapore in January 2025.

Brother Dr. Monthol Prathumarach gave a blessing and guidance to Punyathorn Temridtiwong before his flight to Singapore this week. Punyathorn also shared an encouraging message to his fellow students.
“Success will come to those who prepare for it. By studying hard and challenging yourself, you’ll create your opportunities. When the right time comes, you’ll be ready and achieve it not by luck or timing but by dedication.”

ACSP congratulates you once again, and may all the blessings be with you in your future endeavors!
