ACSP and AAU: S3 Design Thinking Workshop

On October 30, 2024, the English Program successfully facilitated the AAU Design Thinking Workshop for Secondary 3 students at MSC 03-04, in the Louis Marie Building. This engaging workshop included four key components: identifying problems, brainstorming potential solutions, testing those solutions, and promoting teamwork through collaborative problem-solving. This hands-on approach encourages students to think critically and work together to tackle real-world challenges.

This workshop was led by four professors from the Monfort del Rosario School of Architecture at Assumption University. The guest speakers included Ajarn Orn_la_or Homsettee, Ajarn Tanakorn Meennuch, Ajarn Nuttapol Sakchalathorn, and Dr. Ananya Kannasoot. Their combined expertise and insights greatly enriched the learning experience for all participants.

Students were grouped into 12 groups, each comprising 5 members. During this workshop, students went through the 5 key steps of design thinking: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test, focusing on the topic, “How can we live healthily in Thailand by 2030?”. This active process will encourage them to research community needs, brainstorm creative ideas, develop prototypes, and ultimately test their solutions, all aimed at fostering a healthier future for all. This was a great opportunity to showcase their Design Thinking skills, which students have been learning about from Secondary 1-3.

The professors were impressed by the students' commendable efforts in systematically presenting their ideas. The students successfully identified the challenges and undertook ample evaluation of the fundamental causes, effects, and possible solutions, demonstrating a practical approach to addressing any likely issues.
