S6 PE & Health: Group Dance Performance

Last week, the ACSP English Program organized an exciting Health & PE performance-based dance event, setting the stage for students to showcase their talents and push out of their comfort zones. The S6 PE & Health classes came together to compete in an exciting group dance featuring a captivating blend of traditional and modern dance styles.

Leading up to the event, students dedicated themselves to preparation during a 7-week practice period, honing their skills and building the confidence needed to deliver a great performance in front of a live audience. They were given the creative freedom to carefully select their music, choreograph their routines, and design their costumes. Their dance performances were evaluated based on several criteria, including readiness, music selection, rhythm, pace, choreography, and member involvement, highlighting the depth of their commitment, collaboration and creativity.

This activity showed how students perceive the meaning of dance and its diverse impact. Ultimately, students were asked to use this chance to express themselves, their feelings, and their emotions through dance. It is a universal language that connects people from all around the world and all walks of life. The audience was impressed by the students’ dance performance, and standing ovations were received.
