Our M6 students have been studying trends and learning vocabulary related to different types of trends, particularly in the area of fashion. As part of this topic, students were asked to prepare and deliver a presentation about a trend related to “Generation Z.”

Students were given just over three weeks to prepare a detailed presentation, which had to include at least five slides, visual aids, bullet points, and sound or video clips to enhance their presentations.

A wide range of topics was presented, including fashion, video games, social media, popular dances, and many others. The presentations formed part of the students’ formative assessment, giving them an opportunity to demonstrate their ability to present information in English. The activity not only helped students build their confidence when speaking in front of others, but also enabled them to improve their pronunciation and fluency.

Presentation skills are an important part of both academic and professional life. Students will find the practice they gain from developing these skills useful when they move on to university, where presentations are common, as well as in the workplace, where information often needs to be presented clearly and effectively to others.

All in all, the students did an amazing job preparing and delivering their presentations. In the second semester, students will conduct another presentation, and we are sure that they will continue to develop and improve this vital skill.
