Follow the King’s Footsteps 2024

ACSP English Program led by the Social Studies Department organized the “Follow the King’s Footsteps” project on 11-15 November 2024. All the students’ work was displayed on the ground floor of the St. Gabriel building during the event.

This activity had two learning objectives: the first is about His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s philosophy, the Sufficiency Economy given on 4th December 1974 during his royal speech.

“Being a tiger is not important, the important thing is for us to have a sufficient economy. A sufficient economy means having enough to support ourselves. We have to take a careful step backward. Each village or district must be relatively self-sufficient. I ask all of you to aim for moderation and peace, and work to achieve this goal. We do not have to be extremely prosperous. If we can maintain this moderation, then we can be excellent” — His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej
This philosophy was envisioned and developed for over 60 years of tireless work to improve the lives of Thai people and bring them a genuine and lasting happiness.

The second is to showcase and present the interesting work the students made out of recyclable materials. They used their creative minds to make various DIY objects, like a pageantry sash, a coin-trick machine, an analog clock, a piggy bank, a coffee-vending machine, and many more.

EP would like to congratulate the event organizers, the Social Studies Department, and the creative students for a job well done!
